Terminations and MATCH
Being cut off, being listed, and what can honestly be done about either.
- Can a MATCH listing be removed? Only the acquirer that placed the listing can remove it, entirely at their discretion, and in practice only where it was added in error or was for PCI non-compliance you have since fixed. Otherwise it expires automatically after five years.
- How long does a MATCH listing last? Five years from the date it was added, after which the record is removed automatically. There is no renewal, and nothing shortens it except the acquirer that placed it agreeing to remove it early.
- I have been terminated. What should I do first? Get the termination notice and stated reason in writing, establish whether you were MATCH- listed, find out when your held funds are released, and fix whatever caused it before applying elsewhere.
