What documents will I be asked for?
Photo ID for every owner at 25% or more, company registration and proof of address, three to six months of bank statements, the same of processing statements if you have them, and a live site with refund, privacy and terms pages.
The core list is consistent across providers. Some categories add one or two items, and having the set ready is the single biggest thing that shortens the timeline.
- Government-issued photo ID for each beneficial owner holding 25% or more
- Company registration documents and proof of business address
- Three to six months of business bank statements
- Three to six months of processing statements, if you have processed before
- A live, complete website including refund, privacy and terms pages
- A voided cheque or bank letter confirming the settlement account is in the company’s name
Category extras are usually predictable: certificates of analysis for anything ingestible, a licence for regulated categories, supplier agreements where provenance matters.
Two points that cost people time. Statements must be the real thing — a PDF export from the processor, not a screenshot or a spreadsheet you typed. And the settlement account has to be in the applying company’s name; an account in a director’s personal name is a hard stop for most acquirers, not a detail to be waived later.
If you have been terminated, add the termination notice. Volunteering it reads considerably better than having it found.
